Can we change the cover?

Absolutely. You’re welcome to adapt the cover to suit your market, appeal to your readers and give the book the best chance of success.

Can we change the trim size to reduce printing costs?

Yes. You can adjust the trim size or make modest changes to the book’s proportions to achieve a more economical print price.

Can we reduce the page count?

Many of our books are designed to allow selected pages to be removed, whether to reduce printing costs or omit material that is less relevant to your market. Any cuts should preserve the book’s coherence and the author’s intention.

Can we print a colour title in black and white?

Although all our titles are produced in colour, most also work well in black and white. Suitability will depend on the individual book, particularly where colour is important to understanding the illustrations or subject matter.

Do you offer co-editions?

We license publishing rights rather than organize co-edition print runs. Our publishing partners arrange their own printing, giving them control over production costs and schedules.

How do we check whether rights are available in our language and territory?

You don’t list the word counts on your site. How do I find out how many words are in a title for our translation purposes?

The word counts for a lot of our titles are listed in our rights catalogue. But if you don’t see them there, please just reach out to Karen and she will do a word count for you.

Can we see a complete book before deciding whether to acquire rights?

Yes. We normally supply a watermarked PDF of the complete book, allowing you to review the content, design and illustrations before making a decision. We can also send physical copies on request.

What files do you supply for translation and production?

We supply low-res PDFs and Adobe InDesign files, allowing your team to translate the text, adapt the layouts and prepare your edition for publication.

Can we change the title or adapt the content for our market?

Absolutely. You know your market best, and you’re welcome to make any changes needed to help the book succeed in your territory. This includes adapting the title, text, design and local references to suit your readers.

Can we license ebook rights as well as print rights?

Yes. Ebook rights are available and negotiated separately from print rights. Please contact Karen to discuss the titles you’re interested in.
